NHS Welcomes Marisha Plata

Niagara Health System has a new Technical Engineering Specialist. NSI would like to welcome Marisha Pluta to her new role! Marisha holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Dalhousie University and a graduate certificate in Environmental Management and Assessment from Niagara College. Marisha comes from a background in health care services and previously worked as a Renal Assistant in Renal Dialysis and a Waste Management Intern. Through her new position with Niagara Health System Marisha focuses on maintaining records, coordinating licenses and certifications, as well as contracts within the Engineering department.

She is in the process of creating an Environmental Awareness Plan and will be working with Management to determine the roll out and engagement levels. In the future, Marisha hopes to create a full Environmental Management System under ISO 14001:2015 and continue to build the relationship Niagara Health has with NSI.  Marisha says of her new position, “The Director, Manager, Supervisors, and staff I work with are all amazing and very helpful with this process and learning curve. Even though I am very fresh on the job, I am very excited and optimistic for everything that Niagara Health will accomplish.”
