Ontario’s Cap and Trade Legislation: Local Perspectives & Opportunities
MEDIA RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ontario’s Cap and Trade Legislation: Local Perspectives & Opportunities
NIAGARA REGION, ON – September, 16, 2016
As part of our efforts to lead Niagara to be a socially inclusive, environmentally resilient, and economically competitive community, Niagara Sustainability Initiative (NSI) strives to provide educational and accessible content on important sustainability issues.
As such, we have prepared an educational document, entitled “Ontario’s Cap and Trade Legislation: Local Perspectives & Opportunities”, which provides an overview of Ontario’s incoming cap and trade program. The purpose of this paper is to both provide a summary of the legislation and discuss potential opportunities for facilities operating in the Niagara region. The document and formal comments are being distributed in advance of NSI’s event on September 20, 2017 – addressing the same topic.
The document can be accessed through NSI’s website, here. Printed copies are available upon request only.
Questions and comments can be directed to Megan Gallina, Education and Outreach Manager at [email protected].
NSI is a not-for-profit organization that engages and connects government, industry, community and academia to advance environmental and economic performance in the Niagara Region. Through The Carbon Project, a voluntary program whereby member organizations voluntarily commit to measuring, managing and reducing organizational greenhouse gas emissions, NSI facilitates profitable sustainability in the Niagara Region.
